![]() William will play the leading role and rather complicated character of Jackie Matero in the soon to be produced feature film boxing drama Southpaw. Recently he played a supporting role in the independent film For Whom The Drum Beats, very well known actor Frank Vincent’s son in the feature film American Woman, a pick up artist in the television Reality Show pilot of Geek to Guido and a regular mob crew prankster member in the television Reality Show pilot You Got Whacked Gangsters and Pranksters. He was featured in Hackers, played a role in the award winning short I Am Woody and appeared numerous times in the last three seasons of The Sopranos as one of Paulie Walnuts' crew members, Jason Molinaro. He portrayed a young Carlo Gambino in Boss of Bosses and the character Al Pacino in Analyze That. In addition he appeared in other feature films and television shows and mini-series. This comedic adventure independent film went on to win numerous Audience Favorite and Best Comedy Feature Awards at film festivals internationally and was picked up for DVD distribution by Monarch Entertainment after many theatrical screenings one to a sold out crowd of over 600 audience members. William’s next film, Searching for Bobby D which he produced, Co-wrote the screenplay with his Director Paul Borghese. William went on to write, produce, Co-direct and play a leading role in the feature film Wannabes for which he won the Best Actor Award for his performance at the New York Independent International Film Festival. The film was distributed overseas, aired on pay-per-view television and was distributed nationally onto Home Video. His first producing accomplishment was the independent feature film One Deadly Road which he wrote, produced and played a leading role in. William has extensive experience not only as a producer and writer, but also as an accomplished actor. What would you call the most challenging aspect of playing Benny? Talking to St. What were some of the other research you get to do for this role? I know how these guys are. It’s about making them fearful but likeable. ![]() With most of the cast having a background on this little subgenre where the mafia fits in – how would you say this helps you guys when getting in the character’s skin, especially yourself? We know these characters. Was this always meant to be a series or it rather evolve into this? Yes it was. People tend to love these type of characters. You have to make the story engaging and the circumstances. With so many films and shows dealing with the mafia – how much does the show tend to borrow from what came before while adding some of your touch? When you portray the Italian Mafia you have to be true to how these people are. What draws your attention the most? The time period of the eighties and how it was back then with mafia in the neighborhood. I felt like I could tell endless stories. Speaking of which, let’s talk about GRAVESEND – how did you get involved with the series? I wanted to do a series about the neighborhood I grew up in Brooklyn. Having done some work as a director and producer – how does wearing these hats actually help you with your work as an actor? As a director I know what I want to get out of with my actors. That changed my life and gave me my start. Robert DeNiro was the director and he gave me some lines. How were you drawn into the world of acting?
