FIX: message box wasnt displayed if file cannot be opened for writing in some cases. NEW: command SayOutput and generated output field CurrentUrl at the web source framework. We can always learn from how others do things. CHG: closing of application was possible during copy, move and delete operations. My workflow is the dog here, not the tail.Īgain, my recent comments are designed to suggest improvements to Mp3tag, as I hope to come back to it in the future. I use iTunes for adding lyrics, but I don't like its interface and options for other tag edits. It would appear to me that MM and Audacity see the same year field, with Mp3tag being the odd one out, tho perhaps if we considered more programs, the majority vote would come out differently. Haven't asked in their forums as I'm new to MM and just noticed the issue when I retested Mp3tag and Audacity is not a primarily a tag editor. So you might save the MP3tag features and still access your whole collection. What I don't understand: you ran into tagging problems because you reached the memory limit and it is still not possible to think of a different workflow?ĭid you know that it is possible to d&d files from iTunes directly into MP3tag for editing? With (just as an example) iTunes as the administration program for the whole collection you could pinpoint exactly those files that are necessary to perform your current task. I do see implementation problems on the side of the other programs. Īs MP3tag accurately displays even the second (or more) YEAR field, I do not see any compatibility problems. Mp3tag opens my shared directory of mp3 files and can read everything, but when I try to write (for example convert filename to tag) then I mp3tag complains it can't write, to be more specific the error is: Code: Select all Expand view File 'Y:\dir\file.mp3' cannot be opened for writing. And perhaps they don't want to loose any data and create a second YEAR field. If you follow the link provided by user poster, you will see that MM maps certain other fields to year. o.Second, why would Media Monkey and Audacity add a 2nd year field, resulting in the "2017//2017"?. and try to save it, I get the error: 'file.mp4 cannot be opened for writing. Then save these files to get rid of the APE tags and thats it. Hello all, I have an AAC file reported by MP3Tag to contain an APEv2 (APEv2) tag and to require an MPEG-4 AAC LC ADTS codec. This data should be complete (according to what you have written). So before reading the files, switch off the reading of APE tags and you should see only that what is in the V2.3 and V1 tags. P.P.S: If I try to load out of the program a file, the program doesn't seem to see the drive at /media/DRIVEMOUNTDIRECTORY but at /home/*somewhere he is able it import. This looks to me as though the APE tags do not contain any useful data. This tag editor is open source, and it supports a. don't want to work with the file, even if I'm declared as owner. You can select your preferred feature from the available plugin options, or else you can also write your own. P.S: I also just changed one file on the HDD with sudo chmod 000 filename but still it stays with permissions -rwxrwxrwx like all the other files so changing permissions here doesn't seem to help :( The program just. dev/disk/by-uuid/F4AA07random/mnt/F4AA07random auto nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show 0 0ĭo you have an idea, what I could do? It is because my primary ssd is about ~250GB and my 2nd drive is 4TB, and thats why I did not take all my personal data into the /home/user/media-folders But I still can not import it into the program :( Im really sad, because I can not believe that this little problem is making me stuck with linux now :(īevor I did anything to the fstab file, it was something like this: If I click now on properties of a random file on this drive, it says user and group are me/mine, as configured (1000). I changed after some web research the mounting line for this drive like following, because I hoped it could /media/DRIVEMOUNTDIRECTORY ntfs-3g uid=1000,gid=1000,noauto,user 0 0 I think, it could be a problem with the rights/permissions? The second drive is NTFS drive (was used in windows also as second drive), the primary drive (SSD) is formated by ubuntu, so not NTFS I guess. Only if I copied the file to /home/user/music, then it work immediately. Situation: I want to edit mp3 tags with a program- my mp3 files are on my 2nd HDD, but if I want to open files from there into the program- just nothing happen. I reached the most frustrating point and coulnd't find anywhere in the web an answer so I hope, this could be here my last possibility for a solution.
